Use of Facilities

New Jerusalem Baptist Cathedral is a beautiful facility that we are very proud of. We offer the use of our facility to members and non-members for:

  • Weddings
  • Banquets
  • Family Reunions
  • Conferences
  • Meetings

Weddings

It is the Pastor’s policy not to perform a marriage within 6 months of notification. This is done to maintain his existing planning and personal schedule. Marriage should be planned well in advance. Jumping into marriage is not wise. Planning your marriage and seeking marriage counseling is highly recommended by the Pastor.

Marriage is too sacred and too holy, to be rushed into. It is the Pastor’s wish that persons understand God’s requirements of marriage before entering into the bond of matrimony.

A minimum of six (6) counseling sessions (12 hours) for all members and nonmembers prior to performing a marriage ceremony is required. The pastor provides counseling only if he officiates the wedding ceremony. He is certified and will administer the Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis (T-JTA) - a diagnostic device to identify individual strengths as well as areas of needed improvement, as one of his counseling tools.

Restrictions

• No food or drink is allowed outside the fellowship hall.

• Dripless candles will be used at all times (no exceptions).

• Relocation of furnishings must be approved by the Pastor or Trustees of the church. THE COMMUNION TABLE WILL NOT BE MOVED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

• Bird seed may be used outside the church. No rice, please.

• Flashing cameras are not allowed during the speaking of wedding vows (video permitted). Remember, marriage is a Holy worship service.

• MUST BE AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF NJBC FOR A MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS BEFORE MAKING FREE USE OF THE CHURCH AND IT’S FACILITIES FOR MARRIAGE CEREMONIES. NO EXCEPTIONS

The church’s professional caterer must be used for all functions held at the church, provided they are available. Please call the church office and ask to speak with the caterer. If the church caterer is unavailable, an additional charge of a $100.00 refundable deposit is required.

No alcoholic drinks will be served in the church fellowship hall.

Wedding directors, caterers, florists and photographers are required to consult with the Pastor prior to working a wedding in the church.

 Fees

* Due prior to first counseling session

** Due one(1) week prior to ceremony with copy of marriage license

*** Deposits are due with written reservation. (will be refunded if there are no damages or missing items) - Balance due 1 month prior to date of event (cash).

An additional charge of $50.00 for every hour or fraction thereafter is required for time exceeding the hours stated above.
